The Internet Is Not Making Us Smarter A Strange Observation Lately I have been noticing something strange. Whenever I publish travel stories, cactus photos, cycling adventures, landscapes from Mexico, or dangerous roads disappearing into mountain canyons, people react positively. Likes appear, comments appear. Some even read the entire article, which on today’s internet is already a small medical miracle. But when I publish longer reflections about psychology, human behavior, anxiety, society, or the way people think, something else happens. I lose followers. Not many, but enough to notice. At first I found this slightly amusing. Then interesting. Eventually I started wondering whether this says something larger about modern internet culture itself. Perhaps people simply dislike psychological topics. Or perhaps the problem is something deeper. Maybe modern internet culture slowly trains us to avoid difficult thinking altogether.
